Come, Ye Sinners, Poor and Needy

Songs are lifted up at the Lord's Supper every Sunday morning at church.  Every now and again, one gets offered that I have never heard of before.  Such was the case this morning.  I'm putting the lyrics down here as a means of remembering them lest I forget.  I was struck by their simplistic but beautiful invitation to come to the Savior Jesus Christ.  Joseph Hart penned a good one:

Come you sinners poor and needy
Weak and wounded sick and sore
Jesus ready stands to save you
Full of Pity Love and Power

Let not conscience make you linger
Nor of fitness fondly dream
All that He requires as fitness
Is to know your need of Him

Come you weary heavy laden
Lost and ruined by the fall
If you tarry till you're better
You will never come at all

Come arise and go to Jesus
He will take you in His Arms
In the love of your dear Saviour
You are safe from all alarms
